The Villas d'Agua is a fully equipped 4 star modern apartment hotel, built in 2003, well located in the centre of the Algarve, east of Albufeira. The townhouses of the Villas d'Agua are, for the most part, two story one and two bedroom units arranged in four blocks around a large central swimming pool adjacent to the reception area, which includes a restaurant, and a terrace bar.

One bedroom units have two single beds and a pull out sofa bed in the living room. Two bedroom units also have two single beds per room, two bathrooms, and a pull out bed to accommodate up to six people. The units themselves feature a kitchen, an eating area and a sitting room with a fireplace on the main level, with the bedroom(s) and bathroom(s) on the lower level and a balcony or a private patio with walk out to the spacious grounds.

The hotel provides daily maid service; bed linens are changed weekly, towels twice weekly. A personal safe in each unit is included; there is internet (Wi-Fi) service in the lobby (fee). The modern kitchens are equipped with a full sized fridge with freezer, 4 burner stove, oven, dishwasher, washing machine AND a full suite of appliances - microwave, toaster, coffee maker and kettle. Each kitchen has a full allotment of dishes, plates, cups, glasses and cutlery. A well supplied convenience store is located just outside the main hotel security gate.

The quaint fishing village of Olhos d'Agua is a short walk away and has stores, a beach, board walk and a variety of excellent restaurants. There is a local village market and a small supermarket nearby, plus banks, a pharmacy and a post office, all within walking distance. You can spend some time walking on the unspoiled 5 km Falesia Beach, which can be seen in the background of the picture of Olhos D'Agua.

Nadene Strange

Nadene Strange is an experienced and dedicated tour leader having escorted custom designed overseas tours for Retired Teachers and their friends.

Currently Co-Chair of travel for RTO District 20 (Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox and Addington) Nadene has been involved in tour leadership since 1997. Her significant experience embraces tours to Portugal (12), Ireland (5), Belize, Costa Rica and South Africa. Nadene has just returned from escorting a comprehensive tour to Scandinavia, St. Petersburg Russa & Iceland.

She is looking forward to her leadership roles in Portugal and East Africa in 2012. Participants have nothing but praise for her efficiency, dedication and sensitivity to the needs of all of her group participants.

  • Services of a local representative who will be available on a regular basis to book local tours within Portugal, (Lisbon, Fatima) as well as tour options to Spain (Seville, Cordoba, Rhonda, Jerez, Cadiz, and Grenada), and to Gibraltar and Tangiers – for a taste of Morocco.
  • Activities: There will be a full group meeting and orientation session at the Villas d'Agua on arrival and we will hold voluntary group meetings every week thereafter.
  • Road trips: Car convoys on re- determined routes are designed to help you to feel comfortable driving in Portugal. Each week we will take you to a different destination, often arranging for site visits but always providing maps and local information.
